4/30/2014 i start watching lottery videos and affirm " i want to win the lottery i will win the lottery" and brainwave entrainment. will i still be doing it by 6/30/2014?..............
.5/5/2014. i can't really give up on the brainwave entrainment or the hypnosis. the hypnosis is more helpful then brainwaves entrainment to me cause it completely blocks the voices in my head. and that's most important to me. a few hours of peace from the voices in my head.

5/6/2014. i'm still watching lottery videos, brainwave entrainment and hypnosis audio. i can't see myself stopping this. cause the voice will always be there. just like they were in 2004 when i was in high school.

5/14/2014. haven't watched the lottery visualization or brainwave entrainment the last three days. but now i'm back to it. cause i do hear voices and that's my reason to come back to this. wanted to start writing loglines using blake snyder's teaching but i can't find a personal reason. i know if i write a great script that could start a lucritive career. but what reason do i have to do this for 3-8 years until i write that great script. i can't come with a personal reason

5/16/2014. i have been listening to theta brainwaves but i'm gonna switch up to gamma. the voices are still very loud in my head even after 1-2 hours of listening to theta.

so i promise to listen to brainwave entraiment alpha/theta or gamma and hyponis lottery winning audio and self discipline audia and also watch lottery winning visualizations. until i no longer hear voices. 5/5/2014......considering that i was hearing voice in 2004 senior year of high school and ten years later still. i think i'll still be hearing voices in 2024

5/23/2014. today i start listening to the songwriting hypnosis tape with theta brainwaves. i got to say very good. i have the songwriting books but never read them, i don't have enought reasons, but i have reasons to listen to the hypnosis tapes. i'm mentally ill. have been since high school back in 2002. still is twelve years later. so i'll always be doing trying to quiet the voices and in the process hopefully program the subconscious to write hit songs.

5/25/2014. if i'm still listening to the songwriting hypnosis in 3 or 6 months then i will go on to blake snyder's concept and character. and have the same guy do a hypnosis tape for character/concept/theme for me. so septermber-november. update 6/13/2l014. i mostly listen to songwriting. ocassionally listen to the lotter winning. i'm still waiting to get the hypnosis for screenwriting and and sketch comedy.

5/26/2014. medical students hit the books the first two years of med school before getting to do patient interaction the third year. so they program the subconscious first then the application comes the third year. little by little. do the same with songwriting/lottery hyponisis. listen to it for two years and then let the subconscious use it to apply it and win the lotto and write hit songs etc.

6/1/2014..... just after midnight the first of june. so i did the brainwave entrainment the whole month of may except for three days. things are no different with crime. same robberies and murders. black on white shootings. etc. last two days i haven't been feeling too well. hope to continue with the brainwave entrainment. maybe try delta brainwaves. so i missed three days today last month. but the last two days of may i was feeling down. so i really missed

6/15/2014.........so i finally got the mp3 for the screenplay and sketch comedy. right now. i'm really going to focus on songwriting and screenplay, but i will listen to the sketch comedy and lottery accosinally but main focus is songwriting/screenwriting.....it's 12:26 AM.

6/28/2014. in two days i'll be two months since i've been watching the lottery videos. i'm excited cause i feel i like i can just keep going and going. there's nothing else i can do. so i quiet the voices with the hypnosis and i watch the lottery visualizations. and i hope it pays off in 8-9 months. i had a vascetomy so  i can't give birth to a baby. but maybe give birth to lottery winnings and hit songs and tv shows.
today i'm going to find a good beat on youtube. i'm going to vibe with the beat and start mubling melodies to the beat. today is 4/28/2014. will i still be repeating this intention in 6/28/2014

7/2/2014 i used to listen to screenplay hypnosis audio but something tells me i should listen to lottery hypnosis audio. so from today on i'll be listening to lottery hypnosis and alternate between song and screenwriting. so one day lottery hypnosis and songwriting. next day lottery hypnosis and screenwriting. back and forth

IN THE ABSENCE OF CLEARLY DEFINED GOALS, WE BECOME STRANGELY LOYAL TO PERFORMING DAILY TRIVIA, UNTIL WE BECOME ENSLAVED BY IT.
my trigger is the voices that i hear.........they trigger me to listen to hypnosis tapes and while i listen to hypnosis tapes i watch the lottery visualizations

Three Tiny Steps

Fogg’s research has taught him that human behavior is systematic. Each of our actions and decisions is fueled by three components—motivation, ability and triggers. Our behavior, particularly our habits, comes from an underlying motivation, the ability to complete the particular action and a stimulus that provokes the action.

For example, your morning alarm blares and you immediately turn it off and get out of bed—or you do after a couple rounds of hitting the snooze button. Getting up to start the day is your motivation, locating your alarm clock within arm’s reach creates your ability to fulfill it, and the loud, incessant beeps are the triggers, reminders to your instincts that the next action is to turn off the alarm.

The road to any desired behavior—say, increasing productivity on the weekends, making more sales calls or eating healthier—can be jump-started with three baby steps:

·         Start Small

  • “Pick a small step toward your goal—a step so tiny, you’ll think it’s ridiculous,” Fogg says. Because it’s radically easy, you’re more likely to actually complete the behavior, regardless of how much or how little motivation you feel.

·         Find an Anchor

  • Choose an existing routine in your life to act as a trigger for your new behavior. Parking your car, brushing your teeth or taking a shower are all routines that can act as great anchors to trigger a new habit. “Whether you realize it or not, you have all sorts of routines,” Fogg says. “I call these anchors that you can connect to your tiny behavior. The key is to pick which routine is the right trigger for your small, simple behavior.” The blueprint for your new behavior should complete the following sentence: After I (routine), I will (tiny behavior).
  • Let’s say you want to be more active. Begin small. For example when the phone rings try doing some exercise while on the phone, walk while you talk or do some squats, perhaps even some kettlebell exercises. Or after going to the bathroom do a set of pushups then immediately wash your hands.  It’s important to note that if you try to start a habit and it hurts, you’re making it too hard. It has to be something that’s not a big deal, where you just think, oh, it’s just two curls with the kettlebells. And after it’s over, be happy that you did it when you had planned to do it.

·         Celebrate Immediately

  • In building a habit, it helps to reward yourself in positive ways that are as small as your tiny behaviors themselves—give yourself a thumbs-up, a smile in the mirror, or tell yourself good job! “Notice how often athletes celebrate and when they do it—immediately,” Fogg says. Not only do small celebrations reinforce desired behavior, but they design for what Fogg calls “tiny thrills.” “Our brains are very bad at distinguishing between I did this huge thing and I’m feeling awesome about it and I did this tiny thing and I’m still feeling awesome about it,” Fogg says. “Somehow in our heads we exaggerate, which is a good thing. That’s part of the hack—building success momentum, allowing you to feel successful, allowing that success to be larger than it rationally should be, then growing and leveraging that attitude into bigger things.”
my last post was on april 11. today is july 3. so almost three months without posting.

does it work? does creating tiny habits to learn new skills work?

not for me. i'm scizophrenic. i hear voices. and what works for me is listening to hypnosis tapes to quiet the voices. but i don't just listen to hypnosis tapes for 1 hour. i listen the whole day.

i'm unemployed. got fired from my job in Russellville, Alabama.

back in Miami living with my parents. my unemployment has run out and i just stay all day listening to hypnosis tapes.

i listen to lottery hypnosis tapes...for the most part.
i listen to songwriting hypnosis and screenwriting a little.

Mobile Home-Entertainment Service When it's dirty, disconnected or in need of repair, you'll save the day for homeowners who want their stereo, compact-disc player or videocassette recorder in working order. Brush up on your electrical and wiring know-how. Door-to-door fliers and calls to retail-store managers about your services will get your business off to a great start. Mobile Window Tint With some training and basic equipment, you'll be seeing plenty of green with your mobile window-tinting business. For best results, have a pager and van ready to help car, van and truck owners prevent heat damage to their vehicles' interiors. Other hot markets: homes, high-rise condominiums and office buildings. Putting your knack for neatness to part-time business use is bound to arrange some tidy profits for you. Personal Chef What's for dinner, honey? Great home-cooked meals for working parents and busy professionals who hire you as a personal chef. There's plenty of demand for this specialized service. You can work with gallery owners, artists, portrait photographers and individuals who've purchased a print, painting or fine photo. If you aren't already a framing expert, read up, take classes at a local college or community center, then assemble your tools--including clamps, saws, miter boxes, glue, and a pneumatic or hand stapler. Establish relationships with local artists' groups, galleries, photographers and print shops that can give you their business or refer their customers to you. Plant Leasing And Maintenance Got a green thumb and a delivery van? You're all set to service corporations, home builders, health clubs and other businesses who want fresh greenery. Develop a steady clientele with a regular watering, pruning and fertilizing program and a full replacement guarantee. Clients include attorneys, businessowners and individuals. Restaurant Delivery Whether it's macaroni and cheese or a five-course gourmet meal, at-home meal replacement is fast becoming the newest way to dine. When customers want their restaurant orders "to go," you'll be "on the go" with your restaurant delivery service. A great way to make your late afternoons and weekends extra-profitable! Get started by offering classes at health clubs, through your city's recreation and parks department, or on your own.
Stop monkeying around!” My brothers, sisters, and I heard this exclaimed a lot as kids. When the 5 of us got together we created havoc, much to our parents’ chagrin. We rebelled, we mucked around; we screamed, we jumped up and down; we were an unruly bunch; we had lots of energy; we had fun. Two decades later, I am repeating a similar mantra to myself during yoga practice, in a bid to calm my equally as energetic, chatterbox of a mind. Monkey Mind is a Buddhist term which describes the persistent churn of thoughts in the undisciplined mind. In Bikram yoga, achieving a state of internal stillness during physical movement is challenging, especially when the mind is given free rein to battle with the heat, sweat, fear, boredom, that stressful situation at work, for example; all while trying to stretch the body into an asana – be it Cobra, or an elegant Standing Bow Pose. The mind monkeys around, so to speak. Or, as Bikram has been quoted as saying, "The human mind is like a drunken monkey... that's been stung by a bee..." To get some insights into the best techniques to tame the Monkey Mind, I rounded up 5 NYC based Bikram Yoga teachers, who I know and practice beside. They each agreed to share their tops tips to further help others, myself included, find ease and stillness in the yoga practice. Try them out and see if they work for you. Cammi Vance DON’T MISS THE MOMENT. The Monkey Mind is the mind separated from the body, or distracted from the moment. It is the reflexive mind ready to judge, worry, analyze, and compare everything in the moment, which is a good way to miss the moment. Therefore, you’re not only missing a chance to connect with Self, but in physical practice, you’re missing a chance to welcome healing and depth; possibly inviting injury. OBSERVE YOUR THOUGHTS. For me, one of the tricks in taming the Monkey Mind is to observe it without judgment. Something that kept getting in the way early on in my practice was thinking, “Oh, there is another thought coming into my meditation! Inappropriate! I am no good at meditating!” The Monkey Mind was judging itself! Your own body sensations can distract you from going deeper. A teacher once suggested I let the thoughts float by like clouds without attaching to them. That approach has really worked for me. I realized that it’s not a crime to experience a thought when meditating; I can just continue to work on my breath and usher the thought through. Like a child attempting to interrupt a conversation for attention: if it is not urgent, then the child can be gently and kindly acknowledged, perhaps with a hand on the shoulder, without necessarily affecting the integrity of the conversation. You can remain connected, but not attached. You can stay with your intention, in any environment. I like this quote, “The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.” ~Robin Sharma One other thing I will do, when I have trouble stilling words going through my head - I will create a simple chant in my head of '...ommmmmmm...' For me, it easily replaces all the other thoughts. Jessicah Coulston My 2 ingredients for the recipe to calm the Monkey Mind in a Bikram yoga class are conscious, proper breathing, and stillness. SYNC BREATH TO MOVEMENT. Since Bikram yoga is all about the details, you must try to breathe in and out through your nose. When you breathe through your mouth, it stimulates the body's sympathetic, or "fight or flight" nervous system. This send a message to your brain that your body is in a state of panic, which accelerates your heart rate, and sends your mind into a whirlwind of thoughts like “I'm uncomfortable, it's hot, get me out of this room..!” Most importantly, you are wasting that much-needed energy that gets you through to the end of a class. Our brains can be aware of many things at once, but by only focusing on one thing at a time - breathing in and out of your nose - you are sure to calm that Monkey Mind. BE STILL. Resist the urge to fidget and fuss in between postures. In the Standing Series, we always come back to standing with feet together, heels and toes touching, arms down by the sides, standing tall and proud, eyes open, and breathing normal. This stillness in between postures is your Savasana. On the floor, we lay in Savasana in between each posture - stillness is still the goal. By resisting the urge to itch, fix your hair, or as Bikram so eloquently puts it, "scratch your ass" (!!), you gain mental strength, and get closer toward a deep meditation. Finding absolute stillness between postures, whether you are in the Standing, or Floor Savasana, is often noted as the most challenging aspect of the entire Bikram yoga class. Once you have attained this highly cultivated stillness between the postures, you have truly become a skilled practitioner of Hatha yoga, and in my opinion, found an aspect of enlightenment. Aaron Zisman OBSERVE. JUST BE. For calming the Monkey Mind, I suggest humbling your mental perspective. Be really humble with your expectations. Don't try to compete with the person next to you, in achieving the perfect pose. Observing while actively trying to refrain from judgment is important. Observe your balance; observe the feeling of your hips in Standing Bow, but don't judge how much deeper you should go. Observe that you can go deeper, and do. Observe that those hips aren't opening any more today, and be. LISTEN TO THE TEACHER’S WORDS. Even though you've heard the same words for a posture for years, listen as if for the first time again. As you listen, consciously check off each bullet point the teacher verbalizes and actually feel it in your body. Monkey Mind is always there; he just needs something constructive to do. As long as he's in service to somebody, he behaves. Corrine Idzal TAME THE MONKEY EYES. Studies of imaging data of brain function have shown that the part of the brain responsible for visual creativity is the same part responsible for both visual attention and eye movement. In other words, when the eyes are still, so is the attention. With eyes still, you have to be aware of what they are looking at. The brain gets the majority of its sensory information from what we see, even if it defies logic. So, if you are looking at yourself in the mirror and your expression is one of panic or distress, that visual image sends the signal to the brain that there is reason for panic (fight or flight). If however, your expression is one of calm and peace, that image sends a strong sensory signal that everything is ok. Even if you are having the hardest class of your life, look as calm and peaceful as possible. It will create ‘brain confusion’ (the messages, "I’m dying here" and "It's all good," are both coming into the brain), and in most cases this will keep you from spiraling into the abyss! Sarah Yurich CLOSER TO ZEN. A Monkey Mind is a playful mind that easily and frequently gets distracted at any moment in your practice, or in your daily life. Some people may experience it more than others but I think through yoga and meditation, we can teach people how to quiet the mind at any given moment. We learn to put the monkey aside and give ourselves the zenned out inner peace our bodies and minds deserve. TWO TIPS. 1. Focus your eyes on one spot in the mirror, or the ceiling. When the eyes wander, the mind begins to wander. 2. Mantras can help with the Monkey Mind. We don't often teach it in Bikram but one of my favorites to tell a new student is, "Lock the Knee....Lock the Knee....Lock the Knee!" It works! break down of "you belong with Me" using Blake Snyder's beat sheat.

so this is my break down of Taylor swifts song using Blake snyder's 15 beats.
if you don't know the blake snyder's beats. just google "blake snyder beats example"

My breakdown of songs
blake snyder’s and other techniques
You’re on the phone with your girlfriend she’s upset
She’s going off about something that you said

Opening image
Very visual opening as opening images should be. Lots of external detail. I can picture the character in a specific setting. It shows the situation or problem in detail

We can just picture the poor guy trying to calm down his girlfriend on the phone but she keeps on yelling at him

She doesn’t get your humor like I do

We completely understands who the hero is at the opening of this story/song:
A girl who wants to be with a guy who’s clearly has a bitch for a girlfriend
We get an impression of taylor’s wants; this particular boy and the obstacle/conflict in the way: his bitch of a girlfriend.
I’m in my room it’s a typical Tuesday night
I’m listening to the kind of music she doesn’t like

Setup
We see the hero In her “before” world, thesis world, which is the status quo of her life before the journey begins.
She’ll never know your story like I do

prechorus
But She wears short skirts
I wear tshirts
She’s cheer captain and
I’m on the bleachers

Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you’re looking for has been here the whole time
Debate
This part of the song Taylor is debating if he’ll ever truly see that she’s the one that he’s been looking for and not the bitch that he’s with.

If you can see that I’m the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can’t you see ee ee
You belong with mee ee ee
You belong with me

Theme
The theme of the song is
how can you make a guy that you love realize that you’re the one for him. Chorus carries the theme and it tells a good deal about the characters and the situation. Words, phrases, images used in the chorus related to the title.

Walking the streets with you and your worn out jeans
I can’t help thinking this is how it ought to be
Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself
“Hey isn’t this easy”
And you’ve got a smile that could light up this whole town
I haven’t seen it in a while since she brought you down
You say you’re fine I know you better than that
Hey what you’re doing with a girl like that

Break into two/B story
We break into the second verse. The upside down world. The antithesis. The antithesis of this song is the hero walking with the boy she likes to the park enjoying each other’s company with no drama
The break into two, 2nd act, should always be an extreme opposite of the first act and the songs capture that with the guy smiling instead of being yelled at by his girlfriend. We see the guy opening up, enjoying taylor’s company. He’s leaving that drama behind an entering a new, unknown place.

She wears high heels
I wear sneakers
She’s cheer captain and
I’m on the bleachers
Fun and games
With this lyric, we get a small glimpse of the fun taylor is having comparing herself to the bitch ass girlfriend. Staying true to the spirit of the “fun and games” section, this lighter lyric is a nice break from the heavier drama of the verses.
Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find that what you’re looking for has been her the whole time

Midpoint
We’ve reached the middle of the song and all seems to be going well with taylor and the guy she likes. This is a “false victory” however because has he really realized that they’re met to be together. Is he ready to move on from the bitch his dating. No cause she’s still dreaming bout that day, that day hasn’t come yet.
if you can see that I’m the one who undersdans you
Been her all along so why can’t you see ee
You belong with mee ee ee
Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know baby ee ee
You belong with mee ee ee
You belong with me

Bad guys close in
A repeat of the chorus and our theme reminds us the hero is still trying to get this guy to realize she’s the one for him. Which is why she added words to the lyric “standing by and waiting at your back door” “all this time how could you not know baby ee ee”, reminds us that she’s still trying to get the guy to see she’s the one he’s been looking for. She’s having internal debate on wether he’ll ever realize she’s the one for him

Oh I remember you driving to my house
in the middle of the night
I’m the one who makes you laugh
When you know you’re bout to cry
I know your favorite songs
And you tell me bout your dreams
Think I know where you belong
Think I know it’s with me ee
All is lost/dark night of the soul
She brings up the ghost of her past with him. Which could make him see that she’s the one for him. And prove to him that he belongs with her and not his bitch ass girlfriend

Can’t you see that I’m the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can’t you see ee ee
You belong with mee ee ee

Break into three/finale
But then, right as she’s about to crumble and collapse, based on the music going very slow at this point, the guy sees her in her brand new dress at Prom(in the music video) and he’s eyes open wide.
Just as all great hero’s do when they break into act 3, the guy has an epiphany. He turns his girlfriend down and goes to Taylor. Taylor shows him a letter that says I love you and he pulls out his own that says I love you. He’s proven he’s finally learned the theme. He’s finally see her in a new light, not just as a neighbor. But a lover.

Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know baby ee ee
You belong with me ee ee
You belong with me

You belong with me

Have you ever thought just maybe ee ee
You belong with mee ee ee
You belong with me

turtle trades secret was their psychology and position sizing..

each trader started with a small account. if they did well for an initial trial period, then account size increased.

the difficulty in trading lies not in the concepts but in the application. it is relatively easy to learn what to do when trading. it is very difficult to apply those lessons in actual trading

human emotion is both the source of opportunity in trading and the greatest challenge. master it and you will succeed. ignore it at your peril.

to trade wll you need to understand the human mind.

winning traders make money by exploiting the consistenly irrational behavior patterns of other traders.

market movements result from the systematic and repeated irrationality that is embedded in every person.

emotional and psychological strenghts are the most important ingredients in successful trading.

distortions in the way people perceive reality are cognitive biases.
here are some cognitive biases that affect trading.

loss aversion: the tendency for people to have a strong preference for avoiding losses over acquiring gains.

sunk costs effect: the tendency to treat money that already has been committed or spent more valuable than money that may be spent in the future.

disposition effect: the tendency for people to lock gains and ride losses.

outcome bias: the tendency to judge a decision by its outcome rather than by the quality of the decision at the time it was made

recency bias: the tendency to weight recent data or experience more than earlier data or experience

anchoring: the tendency to rely too heavily, or anchor, on readily available information

bandwagon effect: the tendency to believe things because many other people believe them

belief in the law of small mumbers: the tendency to draw unjustified conclusions from too little information

it turns out that it is much easier to make money when your are wrong most of the time. if your trades are loses most of the time, that shows that you are not trying to predict the future. for this reason, you no longer care about the outcome of any particular trade since you expect that trade to lose money. when you expect a trade to lose money, you also realize that the outcome of a particular trade does not indicate anything about your intelligence. simply put, to win you need to free yourself and your thinking of outcome bias. it does not matter what happens with any particular trade. if you have 10 losing trades in a row and your are sticking to your plan, you are trading well; you are just having a bit of bad luck.

Repetition and programming the subconscious mind

By M.Farouk RadwanMSc.

Repetition and the subconscious mind:

One of the rules the subconscious mind follows is that the beliefs it holds grow stronger by repetition.
Repetition can take various forms such as reading the belief, listening to it or visualizing it. Suppose that you bought a new shirt then a friend of yours told you that it looks good. What will happen if Later on another friend told you the same thing? The belief that the shirt is nice will grow stronger (unless something inside you resists it).

Another form of repetition is advising your friends:

Don’t be surprised, one of the strongest forms of repetition is advising your friends. Take religion for example, when you advise your friends to pray then you are actually advising yourself too as a result of hearing yourself repeating those beliefs!! The subconscious mind does not know the difference between someone repeating the idea or you repeating it.
So by advising a friend you are actually reinforcing the belief or the idea in your mind. This concept goes for emotions too. If you're trying to motivate someone, then you are actually motivating yourself too without noticing. The only case where this can't be properly applied is when you are not sure of your own beliefs.

Repetition and making someone love you

Repetition can result in making someone fall in love with you!! In my book How to make someone fall in love with you i explained how people only fall in love with potential partners they come in contact with often.
That's why people usually have problems with long distance relationships. When people see each other more often they become more programmed to like each other and they become more attached to each other.

final words

That’s why many religions consider rereading their Holy Book a good deed. All the ideas in the Holy Book will be reinforced in your mind more and more as you keep reading.

everything you hear is recorded in your subconscious mind, and affects how your life "plays out

you may not know this, but knowledge is transformational. In other words everything you hear is recorded in your subconscious mind, and affects how your life "plays out".

First:
An idea is always a combination of existing things.

Therefore: seeing relationships between things is the most important skill to practice creating ideas.

Step One: Absorb
This is the part that most people skip. Don’t.

There are two types of information you’ll need: specific and general.

Specific information comes from studying your subject closely. You need to eat all the information that exists about your subject. Go to it/her/them/there and experience it deeply. Pay very close attention, and don’t let up.

General information comes from knowledge about life, and current events/science. You must continue to grow your resources in this category your entire life. But for the purpose of this exercise, balance your specific information gathering with reading the news, going to museums, or learning anything new or unrelated to your topic.

Step Two: Mix the pot
Jam the information you’ve gathered into combinations you never thought possible. Mind map. Make associative lists. Give your mind a work-out. Don’t try to think of answers, just more questions.

Mind map of Time Management via Dianna Podmoroff
This is where relationship-sensing comes in handy. Practice playing with words and ideas.

Try to really ‘listen’ for the relationships between elements, instead of forcing one.

During this stage you’ll probably have tons of ‘fuzzy’ and half-baked ideas—write these all down! They’re additional building blocks for you to use and mull over.

Once you’ve simply exhausted all of your data…

Step Three: Leave it to the Subconscious
Take a nap. Seriously. Or just go to bed. Drop it.

“…The creations involve a period of conscious work, followed by a period of unconscious work…”
Henri Poincare
Put the project out of your mind and do whatever it is that makes you feel great. Hiking, music, running, anything that you enjoy. The point is to let your subconscious mind take the wheel for a little while.

Step Four: Eureka!
The next morning, while you’re frying eggs, you’re going to be struck with inspiration. Or maybe when you’re walking the dog. Or in the shower. Or on the bus. Or whatever it is that you do that’s routine and your mind begins to wander… BOOM!

“Just think about it deeply, then forget it…then an idea will jump up in your face.”
Don Draper, Madmen s.1 e.11
Relish in the glory of your own mind for a moment. Only a moment, though— because the hardest part is yet to come.

Step Five: Develop & Shape the Idea into Actual Usefulness
Most ideas need to be bent, stretched, or otherwise modified from their original form before they join us in the physical plane.

Put your idea out there and embrace feedback. Although it may be painful to watch your mind-child be critiqued and battered from the input of others (who clearly don’t share the same creative genius as you!), it will help develop it from ‘a good idea’ into something really worthwhile.

Summary:
Learn as much as you can about the topic
Spend time ‘chewing’ your thoughts and mixing them together
Do something else and let your subconscious work
The idea will appear out of thin air in your mind
Share your idea and bring it into reality
If you can understand that ideas are combination of existing things, practice discovering relationships, and follow these steps (in order), you will produce many ideas!

This is a highly abbreviated version of a book I’ve read several times called: A Technique For Producing Ideas, by James Webb Young. It was written 70 years ago and is “THE classic on creative thinking” according to amazon. repetion

Repetition is the Mother of Learning

Repetition-2

Today I want to start off with a little story about repetition:

Bob proctor once told a story about his life where he was working so hard that it nearly killed him until one day, when he met a man. That man changed Bob Proctors life forever. He changed Bob’s life because he told him to go and get a book. Bob tired of living the life that he was living, wanting to live a lifestyle like the man, took his advice, and bought the book. Bob’s life was forever transformed. The man told Bob that the book was the key to success. That he had to follow everything in it and surely, he would have success.

Bob took that book and read it repeatedly.

The Classic Napoleon Hill Masterpiece THINK AND GROW RICH [Illustrated & Annotated]

Every day for every circumstance in his life, he referred to the book. Today, Bob Proctor is very well known. He is a mentor, a teacher and encourager of people all around the world. If you do not know of him, I invite you to discover him. Just click on the picture. images (1)

Bob still has that book. It is an old ratty, obviously used and very important tool. Why do you think it is old and ratty? Because Bob knows that reading that book repeatedly would help him reach his goals. Bob knows that you never get anywhere by just reading it once. You never get ahead by just doing it once. You will never become a master of your trade by just doing it once.
Some people question and wonder why it is supposedly so important to get on the company calls when they had heard them all before. “Ya, I read the book, I know this stuff.” Really?
I home school my kids and I know the only way to master multiplication is through repetition.I know that history is a subject that is repeated grade after grade with a bit more information every year that the student’s intellect increases. The same is true for subjects like science, social studies and more.
repitition
In all my 20 years of teaching, I know that the best way to ensure my students know is through repetition.
Therefore, if I were expecting them to study math history and science repeatedly, why would I not study my leaders, trainers and teachers? Why would I not study them repeatedly?

Repitition can help you in any area of your life.

You see if I am going to read a book on conquering fear I cannot think that after reading that book I have mastered fear. Suspend reality for a moment and think that in one book you did, could you teach what you know? Are you now an expert? Well, the answer is obvious, no. You probably could not teach what you learn after the first time and I am sure you could not be an expert.p_119
In the home based industry what makes us stand out, what makes YOU marketable is if you know what you are talking about; if you are an expert. People are in need of help and if you do not know, you cannot help. It is time for you to become an expert.
I was once listening to training and the woman who was training us kept quoting people who were in alignment of what she was saying. I used to be impressed with how much information she had to offer but now I am not only impressed but also empowered by her.
You see, repeatingly reading, listening to Audio or watching video every day on the same subjects helps your mind to absorb the information. The more you absorb, the more excited you become. The more excited, the more motivated you are and the easier it is to help others.
images (8)That is why Empower wants you to train every day on the 8 core commitments. If every day you watch and listen to the new member recruiting, then when you do get a customer you will sound just like Dave and Dave. You will sound like an expert even if you had never sponsored a single person.
Live your life in abundance! “You do not know how to live in abundence” you say. Then start listening to audio that talks about the power of abundance and soon you will be feeling it. Watch videos about it to help get you emotionally involved in what you want. Read books about acquiring abundance. It is like blitzing you brain! Feed it so much repetition and it cannot help but to remember. Listen to your leaders and take note of what they read and what they train on; then do the same.

Every day you must do training for your business and a separate training for your mind.

Daily repitition of the process gets you closer to your goals.

Learning about your home business is much like learning to drive a car. There is the learning curve of bumps, jumps, slow starts, quick acceleration and then the sudden stop. However, once you get the hang of it the drive becomes easier. images (32)
As you drive repeatedly, you become one with the car. Often, when you are driving to a repeated destination like the market, you drive almost as if you were on autopilot.teach and then you go learn it again from someone else. You can never have too many teachers and you can never repeat the education enough.
Put your business on autopilot! As you learn, there are going to be curves, bumps, jumps, slow starts, quick acceleration and then the sudden stop. However, once you get the hang of it the blogging, marketing, syndicating, mind set, positive thinking, belief, faith and all the other components you will learn will be as easy as driving a car.

I hope this helped you understand how important daily repetition helps you reach your goals.

The Stop Loss
Once we have decided what percentage to risk on each trade, we can calculate the number of shares to buy or sell. This requires knowing the stop loss location. In other words, the trader needs to decide the point at which he or she will admit defeat if the trade does not go his or her way.
Stop losses are tricky. Most traders who use them err on the side of being too tight. They place their stops too close together. Many others don't use them at all and leave themselves unprotected. Others use fixed dollar stops that do not take volatility into account.

The key to profitable trading is a well-placed stop loss, and much time should be spent on investigating this subject.

Where exactly should we give up on a trade? In theory, I believe the optimal point to leave a trade is when we can see the next entry. For example, if the market is in an uptrend, there comes a point where a pullback becomes big enough to warrant selling the position in case a major trend reversal is at hand.
By leaving at this inflection point, we avoid a potential major trend reversal. If the uptrend shows us the money by reasserting itself after a period of weakness, we can re-enter the trade with a setup designed to buy pullbacks. This way, we always trade from a position of financial -- and mental -- strength.

Amaranth Advisors Hedge Fund Ruined by Ignoring ‘Risk of Ruin’

I finally got around to reading about the blowup of Amaranth Advisors hedge fund. I’m astounded that some of these supposedly sophisticated hedge funds apparently have no clue about such basic concepts like money managementposition sizing and ‘risk of ruin‘. The disaster at this fund is a great illustration of why I’ve always said that and understanding of money management and risk management are the most important aspects of trading. Here are some excerpts from the article (emphasis is mine):
Of all the traders gambling big sums on energy, a 32-year-old Canadian named Brian Hunter made some of the brashest bets and the fastest money.
Brash, eh? Let’s look at the definition of brash, just to be clear — impulsive, brazen, Heedless of consequences, presumptuously daring . Enough said!
At the end of August, trading natural gas, he was up approximately $2 billion for the year. Then Mr. Hunter lost roughly $5 billion, in about a week.
His losses savaged returns for Amaranth, dragging its assets under management down to $4.5 billion from $9 billion at the start of September.
Those are some incredible swings for a fund that I guess was around $7 billion to start. That can’t be safe. :-)
“The cycles that play out in the oil market can take several years, whereas in natural gas, cycles take several months,” Mr. Hunter said in an interview late in July, when his returns were looking rosy. “Every time you think you know what these markets can do, something else happens.
Hmm, if things are so unpredictable maybe you should be trading smaller. :-? I guess Brian and Amaranth never heard of Black Swans.
At that time, Mr. Hunter had more than $3 billion of bets outstanding, investors familiar with the funds’ holdings say.
So he had somewhere around 50% of the fund in play on natural gas. Most sensible traderswon’t risk more than 2% of their account in any one sector / instrument. There’s no telling how much of Anaren’s capital was actually at risk because apparently Brian didn’t use stops or have a point where he’d know he was wrong and exit.
continued taking positions some other traders had abandoned as too risky.
Remember, he’s brash!
Backed by borrowed money and a deep-pocketed fund, Mr. Hunter took on more exposure to certain futures contracts than do some big investment banks employing more than 100 energy traders, say several traders and ex-colleagues. He sometimes held open positions to buy or sell tens of billions of dollars of commodities.
Apparently the fund’s pockets weren’t that deep. I hope those positions were hedged since they were using a lot of margin and apparently holding for long periods of time.
He was up for the year roughly $2 billion by April, scoring a return of 11% to 13% that month alone, say investors in the Amaranth fund. Then he had a loss of nearly $1 billion in May when prices of gas for delivery far in the future suddenly collapsed, investors add. He won back the $1 billion over the summer, only to lose that and much more last week.
His swift reversal calls into question how well some hedge funds grasp the risk they are taking in the now-popular energy markets. Vince Kaminski, a risk-management expert who protested chancy trades while at Enron Corp. and until recently was at Citigroup Inc.’s commodities desk, said yesterday that it is dangerous to take giant positions in relatively shallow markets, which certain months are in gas futures. “This is a typical mistake of inexperienced and aggressive traders,” he said. Mr. Hunter “appeared to have a position that the entire market knew about. The markets are very cruel.” Citing a well-known epigram, Mr. Kaminski added, “‘The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.‘”
Obviously this fund had no clue about their risk!
Nick Maounis, Amaranth’s founder and chief executive, said in August that more than a dozen members of his risk-management team served as a check on his star gas trader. “What Brian is really, really good at is taking controlled and measured risk,” Mr. Maounis said.
Damn, they actually had a risk-management team? Scary.
As for Brian being “really good at taking controlled and measured risk”, look what happened at his previous employer, Deutsche Bank:
In December 2003, just as his group was close to ending the year up $76 million, he claimed in the suit, things went awry. In a single week, they had losses of $51.2 million, he said in the suit. He blamed “an unprecedented and unforeseeable run-up in gas prices”
There he goes blaming his troubles on that darn unpredictable market. Hmm, maybe that’s why people take measures to control their risk!
Mr. Hunter wanted to make bigger bets in his main market, gas. He had an ability to keep calm with huge bets on the line and markets were going berserk.
I bet he was calm since it wasn’t his own money on the line!
Although Mr. Hunter had fared well, many traders say he was acquiring positions that were too large to get out of if the market turned — including a bullish bet on winter gas.
Another aspect of position sizing… why would you ever take such large positions? That makes no sense. Good thing that risk-management team was on the job. ;-)
The sad thing is that all of this drama could have been avoided if these guys simply had an understanding of the concept of “risk of ruin“:
The risk of ruin is the chance that standard deviation will destroy your bankroll before you have a chance to win at the levels you expect. Remember, the edge that you have is just like the edge the casino has – anything could happen in the short term.
[SNIP]
To avoid risk of ruin, make sure that your bet size is a small (very small) percentage of your overall bankroll. If you have a $10,000 bankroll, and you’re betting $1000 per hand at blackjack, then you probably won’t be playing long, no matter how well you count cards or how well you’ve mastered basic strategy.
On the other hand, if you have a $10,000 bankroll, and you’re making $10 bets on hands of blackjack, you’re going to have a lot better chance of finishing your trip to the casino a winner instead of a loser. The bigger your bankroll in comparison to your average bet, the lower your risk of ruin.
Here are some other useful articles on money management and risk of ruin:
  • Money Management by Bennett McDowell — “Money management in trading involves specialized techniques combined with your own personal judgment. Failure to adhere to a sound money management program can leave you subject to a deadly “Risk-Of-Ruin” exposure and most probable equity bust.”
  • Risk of Ruin — “Again this should be obvious: The smaller the amount you risk for any one trade relative to your capital base the lower the risk of ruin.”
  • To Trade or Not to Trade? The Real Question Is How Much? by Teresa Lo — ” Risk management. Money management. Trade size. Position size. Optimal f. Kelly Criterion. Collectively, these phrases determine a trader’s ultimate fate.” and ” In trading, there is a well-defined line between aggressive and insane risk-taking.”
If it isn’t already obvious, the primary goal is to stay in the game & live to trade another day. If you can do that and have a decent strategy (with a positive expectancy) the profits should take care of themselves.
