conversation with myself 2

What do you wanna talk about samuel?
I don't really want to be a writer. I just wanna have fun
Then why did you buy all those writing books on kindle.
Because I thought I wanted to be a writer
But now you realize you don't really want to be a writer
Writing is a lot of work and I realize from reading a few of the written conversations i've had with myself, that I just wanna have fun. I don't really want to do the work required to be a writer.
Can you find a way to make doing the work required fun.
I just bought the paper back of the book Breaking into fiction like two minutes ago. I also have it on kindle but I stopped reading it. Lots of questions to answer in that book that will supposedly leads to writing your own novel. But I don't really want to answer all those questions
Than why did you buy that book on paper back.
I just realize that book, break into fiction, I just like Matt bird's book, the secrets of story
How are they alike
They have a bunch of questions that if you answer will lead you to a novel or a screenplay supposedly. But I don't know. that doesn't sound like fun to me answering a bunch of questions
Why is the conversation with yourself fun to you?
What do you mean
You enjoy having the conversation with yourself. So why is it fun to you. Why do you keep coming back to that exercise
Because it's fun to me. And I learn lots about myself in the process of having a conversation with myself. But I don't know if it will lead to me writing a book.
Why do you keep coming back to do the exercise of having a conversation with yourself?
Because I enjoy it. And i'm never stuck. If I am then I stop the conversation with myself. But I am barely ever stuck with having a conversation with myself
Is that why you don't want to answer the questions in matt bird's book the secret of story? or the book break into fiction? you think you'll get stuck answering the questions so you just don't bother answering the questions
Maybe I don't know. I never get stuck with the conversation with myself. That's why I keep on doing it. Plus it's a lot of fun and I learn a lot about myself
What if you answered the questions in Matt Bird's book, the secret of story or you answered the questions in the book Break Into Fiction but didn't get stuck?
I will get stuck I don't know the answer to those questions.
What if you didn't get stuck though
I probably would spend the time to answer the questions
What if you answwer the questions the way you do the conversation with yourself?
How's that?
By writing the first thing that comes to mind
Than I will come up with a lot of shit.
So what, you came up with some shit written conversations with yourself
Yeah I have come up with some shit. But I don't even bother to read back over them.
But you have come up with some good stuff also.
Yeah i've come up with some good conversation with myself and I read back over them and I learn a lot about myself. That's how I learned I didn't really want to be a writer. I just wanted to have fun.
Then make answering the questions fun
But what fun is in answering questions and getting stuck or coming up with shit
You won't get stuck if you write down the first thing that come to mind but you will come up with a lot of shit but some of the things you come up with might also be very very good. Just like some of the written conversations you've had with yourself
I don't know. Answering a bunch of questions doesn't sound fun to me. I just wanna have fun.
Answering the questions can be fun just like having a conversation with yourself if you treat the questions as a sort of conversation with yourself.
I don't know it still doesn't sound fun to me.
then do what is fun. Just continue to have a conversation with yourself. You are writing. So you are a writer.
But the stuff I come up with is not leading me to a story.
That's why you wanna answer the questions in Matt Bird's book, secret of story and the book Break into Fiction. Those questions will lead you to a story. Granted it will lead you to a lot of shit stories but some of the stories you come up with if you don't give up will be good. Some will be great. Just like the written conversations with yourself
I'll give it a try. like I said I just ordered the book Break into fiction. I will get it in a week or two.
good. Once you get, start answering the questions. Continue to have written conversations with yourself and continue to answer the questions. YOU WILL COME UP WITH SHIT. A LOT OF SHIT. BUT SOME OF WHAT YOU COME UP WILL BE GOOD. Just like your written conversatiosn with yourself
I don't wanna do it if i'm gonna come up with shit
But you have the written conversation with yourself and some of the conversations are shit.
But I enjoy doing that. I dont think I will enjoy answering a bunch of questions and coming up with shit answers.
Then don't do it. if it's not fun to you don't do it.
That what I am doing. I returned the book on comedy writing because doing the exercises in the book doesn't sound fun to me. So I stopped.
You just wanna have fun right
Yeah I just wanna have fun. And I don't think answering a bunch of questions is fun.
You can make it fun. If you do it real fast
But I will just come up with a bunch of shit answers
But it will be fun. And that's what you want to have fun.
I don't know. Maybe it won't be as fun as having a conversation with myself.
But it will be fun. Just answer the questions real fast
I will come up with a lot of shit answers
so what you're just having fun. So don't worry about shit answers
Seems like it's just a waste of time
Is having a written conversation with yourself a waste of time
It's a waste of time because what i'm writing will not lead to a novel or screenplay. But it's not a waste of time because I enjoy doing it. I'm having fun
Then do the same thing with answering the questions.
